A Tiger in Tow

A tiger sprang and caught a fox. Although frightened, the fox quickly came up with an idea. "You better not eat me," it said.
"Why?" the tiger asked.
"I was sent by the god, to rule all the animals. If you eat me, you'll be disobeying the god's order. Then you won't be a good animal."
Seeing the tiger still in doubt, the fox said seriously, "If you don't think what I said is true, I can take you to see all the animals. I'll walk in front and you will follow me. Let's see if all of them are afraid of me."
So the tiger followed the fox into the forest. It was true that all the animals, deer, sheep and rabbits, ran away as soon as they saw the pair.
Thus the fox used the tiger. But the tiger didn't know that all the animals ran away only because they were afraid of it, not because they feared the fox.
